OPERETTISSIMO

With four opera singers from the Hungarian Opera in Cluj/Kolozsvár, two violonists and a pianist, the orchestra’s repertoire is equally made up of songs for winos and wine drinkers, as well as operette, but also tracks from musicals. Two of the pylons holding up our culture are the opera and the Hungarian operette – the latter being declared a “Hungaricum” in 2013. Therefore, the Operetissimo has rightfully undertaken to communicate the genre in a dignifying manner that is via live performances in as many Hungarian communities as possible. Due to the almost 300 events in hundreds of localities throughout the country, the Operetissimo has been successful in making the operette in Hungarian accessible to a larger public – to the enchantment of the highly enthusiastic fans of the genre, as well.
