QUIMBY

25 years have passed since the Quimby, once out of the rehearsal room in Dunaújváros, started devouring the nocturnal Budapest and then slowly twisting the minds of Budapest and of Europe, too. The scatter-brained albums of the band made up of Tibor Kiss (voice, guitar), Livius Varga (percussions, oice), Szilárd Balanyi (keyboards), József Kárpáti (trumpet), Ferenc Mikuli (bass guitar) and Ferenc Gerdesits (drums) have left perennial traces in the Hungarian pop music by creating their own and unmistakable sound throughout the years. However, it has taken more than that for the Quimby to become the No. 1 in Hungary, such as their legendary lyrics starting from a reconsidered version of the chanson, their evergreen guitar tunes and up to the wildest psychedelic music, their undefinable musical universe and their fulminant shows – all there to render uniqueness to the production itself.

Due to the fact that the band has already had several appearances at festivals, the music of the Quimby is also known in Transylvania, the grand favourite of the public being already present on the stage of the Hungarian Cultural Days Cluj/Kolozsvár.
