TRIÓ PÉTER SÁRIK

Jazz pianist, composer and teacher, Péter Sárik was born in Cegléd in 1972. Alumni of the “Liszt Ferenc” Music Academy in Budapest (1997), he continued his classical music studies later on. Apart from jazz, he experimented almost all of the musical genres, starting from classical music to lighter versions such as pop, latino and world music, to have finally set up his own band, the Trio Péter Sárik, in 2007. The trio was restructured in 2012 when Tibor Fonay and Attila Gálfi joined. It did not take long before the Trio Péter Sárik entered the top of the leading Hungarian jazz bands.  With 7 individual albums so far, the Jazzkívánságműsor became a gold disk in less than seven months after its appearance, being also awarded the Fonogram Prize in 2014, and, therefore, becoming The Jazz Album of the Year. Péter Sárik, the composer has known remarcable international success, his tracks being performed on the stages of the most prestigious musical composition contest in the United States of America and in Great Britain.
